HAPPY HUMPDAY FRIENDS! TBH, I'M CURLED UP IN BED WRITING AND WATCHING NETFLIX WHILE MY SLEEPY HUSBAND IS SNORING AWAY BESIDE ME. I SWEAR OVER THE PAST MONTH, MY DAYS HAVE BEEN GETTING AWAY FROM ME FASTER THAN I CAN EVEN KEEP TRACK OF. SERIOUSLY, WASN'T CHRISTMAS LIKE LAST WEEK?! BETWEEN THE TRAVELS, WEDDING SEASON, PERSONAL CRAZINESS, AND WORK BEING AS HECTIC AS EVER, TIME IS FLYING!

AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, BLOGGING IS NOT MY FULL-TIME JOB. I WORK A CORPORATE JOB IN COMMERCIAL INSURANCE BY DAY, AND WE ARE BUSIER THAN EVER! IS BUSY GOOD? YES! CAN IT BE HARD TO GRASP? YES! I THINK MANAGING STRESS IS KEY TO NOT BECOMING TOO OVERWHELMED. I TRY TO STICK TO THREE MAIN WAYS OF MANAGING THE STRESS, AND SINCE I'M PERSONALLY FOCUSING IN ON THEM IN MY OWN DAY TO DAY LIFE, I FIGURED I WOULD SHARE THEM WITH YOU AS WELL!

1. TAKE IN THE FRESH AIR -- SPRING IS NEAR AND OUR CLOCKS HAVE BEEN NUDGED FORWARD GIVING US PLENTY OF REASON TO GET OUTSIDE! WHETHER IT'S A 15 MINUTE BREAK TO STEP OUTSIDE AT WORK, A MID-MORNING RUN, OR RELAXING ON YOUR PATIO/BALCONY/PORCH FOR EVEN A FEW MINUTES, THE OUTDOORS ARE KNOWN FOR HAVING A CALMING EFFECT. IT'S AMAZING WHAT A FEW DEEP BREATHS OF FRESH AIR CAN DO TO HELP EASE YOUR MIND.

2. KEEP YOUR MIND & BODY ACTIVE -- I'M NOT SAYING TO STAY ACTIVE WITH WORK, BUT MORE OF A STAY ACTIVE WITH ACTIVITIES YOU ENJOY. FOR ME, I LOVE A GOOD WORKOUT. THERE REALLY IS SOMETHING ABOUT COMING HOME AFTER A LONG DAY AND GETTING IN A SWEAT SESSION, EVEN IF IT'S JUST FOR A QUICK 30 MINUTES, TO LET IT ALL OUT. AS YOU ARE ACTIVE, YOUR BODY RELEASES CHEMICALS CALLED ENDORPHINS. THESE ENDORPHINS INTERACT WITH THE RECEPTORS IN YOUR BRAIN TO REDUCE YOUR PERCEPTION OF PAIN, WHILE ALSO TRIGGERING A POSITIVE FEELING IN THE BODY. THIS POSITIVE FEELING WILL BEGIN TO REDUCE YOUR FEELING OF STRESS WHILE IMPROVING HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT YOURSELF!

3. MAKE TIME FOR OTHERS -- REMINDING YOURSELF THAT IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT YOU EVEN WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE WHAT YOU HAVE ON YOUR PLATE IS ALREADY MORE THAN YOU CAN HANDLE, IS SO IMPORTANT. WHETHER IT'S AS SIMPLE AS CALLING A FRIEND OR GRANDPARENT TO CATCH UP, HELPING TO BRING IN THE NEIGHBORS TRASH CAN FROM THE CURB AFTER TRASH DAY, BUYING THE PERSON BEHIND YOU'S COFFEE, VOLUNTEERING TO HELP SOMEONE IN NEED, OR EVEN JUST A SIMPLE THANK YOU. I PROMISE YOU, YOU HAVE TIME, AND YOU WILL FEEL GREAT ABOUT IT AFTER.
